Who better to pay fashion homage to one of today’s leading style icons, who also happens to be the country’s First Lady, than supermodel Naomi Campbell?
In the latest issue of W magazine, Campbell dons her best Mrs. O inspired banged wig and two-piece suits during a mock diplomatic tour of Ghana. The photos are part of a spread titled “Naomi Campbell: the First Lady of Fashion”
The piece was shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre and styled by Edward Enninful as part of W’s Global Style Issue. Enninful described the collection as “a tribute to a modern day First Lady on a state trip, evoking the kind of timeless style that could have existed in the 1940s, ’60s, or even today.”
In the spread, Campbell can be seen flaunting the fabulous frocks of top-notch designers that include Nina Ricci, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Dior, Michael Kors and more.
Although we get slight Jackie O. versus Lady O vibes at times, a fab shoot nonetheless. See additional photos from the shoot here.
Let’s hear it! Did Naomi Campbell do FLOTUS justice?
