It’s not everyday you see a photo of two dads simultaneously doing their little girl’s hair.
But follow couple Kordale and Kaleb’s Instagram page and that’s just what you’re going to get. The Atlanta-based gay couple and parents of three have posted on Instagram with the following caption:
Being fathers is getting our daughters up at 5:30 am making breakfast getting them dressed for school and putting them on the bus by 6:30. This is a typical day in our household. It’s not easy but we enjoy every moment and every minute of #fatherhood. #proudfathers#blackfathers#prouddads#gaydads
The ridiculously cute photo is one of many the couple post that show everyday life in their household — and surprise they’re pretty normal and judging from the photos, great parents.
While the adorbs pic has received its fair share of positive feedback, predictably not everyone is excited to see black fathers being, well, black fathers. Shortly after the picture was posted several users took to Twitter criticizing the couple. In response to the attacks, we think MUSED magazine sums it up best:
“Are we sheltered from black gay couples that the general public doesn’t think they exist?”, writes Mused‘s Beyond Steven. “But can you blame theme? There is hardly an image of gay love that features people of color… The point is that Kaleb and Kordell are not unicorns. They are one of many.”
Regardless of where you stand on homosexuality, there’s no denying the fathers love for their children and the freaking sheer cuteness of the photo. Kudos al around to the couple and kudos to all the black fathers out there. Scroll down for more pictures of Kordale and Kaleb with their beautiful children Desmiray, Maliyah, and Kordale Jr.
